Calypso

Taken at the National Aquarium at Baltimore.

This sea turtle was found off of New York somewhere, rather out of its habitat, I believe. It had its front left flipper removed due to an infection, and although the aquarium is allowed to release animals to the wild which have had amputations, they can not release this one since it's become too used to humans...

It's only in its teens, and they named it 'Calypso' since they can't yet tell the gender, and 'that's a good neutral name'...

They also don't know much Greek mythology, since Calypso is most definitely a female name, and I don't think it's EVER been used for a male...
